Hello! Teaching children and helping them grow has always been a passion of mine, one that I have turned into a career of over 30 years. My journey began as a kindergarten teacher at Timnath Elementary in Poudre School District. From there, my family moved to Houston, Texas, where I taught first grade for 7 years. I have since been back in Poudre School District at Lopez Elementary where I have been in many different roles. These roles include first grade teacher and Literacy Intervention. My current role is Instructional Coach and Interventionist. My masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction helps me to tap into each child's growing potential. It is a joy to bring out the best in students and to create a LEADER in every child.
My husband Stuart and I have been married for 36 years and we have three grown children, Sharyl, Scott, and Steven, and four wonderful grandchildren, Elliotte, Everett, Emmarie and Shaylie. If I am not talking about them and their latest achievements, I am most likely out running. There are few trails in Fort Collins I have not covered. I enjoy baking, reading, and traveling. If I ever retire from teaching, my children say I should open up a bakery. My cookies are the best around!
